The “Aybolit: On the Way to Recovery” project hosted a two-day “Start Your Own Business” workshop for 10 veterans with entrepreneurial ambitions.

This training marked the first of six planned events under the Capable and Resistant Program, administered by the East Europe Foundation with financial support from Switzerland. The “Kyiv Military Hub” Center for Comprehensive Support of Combatants provided informational support.

The workshop was led by trainer Pavlo Parkhomenko and psychologist-coach Viktoria Kost. Oleksandr Shevchenko, a legal advisor at the Wings of Victory Foundation, provided guidance on business establishment and personal legal matters.

The course covers:

  • Business Ideation & Validation: From inspiration to viability testing.
  • Business Planning: Blueprint development for entrepreneurial success.
  • Marketing Essentials: Target audience identification and promotional strategies.
  • Financial Fundamentals: Income/expense tracking and profitability calculations.
  • Organizational Design: Building effective management systems.
  • Procurement Optimization: Streamlining resource acquisition.
  • Funding Opportunities: Overview of available capital sources.
  • Grant Writing Mastery: Crafting compelling proposals.
  • Pitch Perfect: Persuasive presentation techniques.

Participants engaged in team-based business modeling exercises, developing and defending business plans during a final showcase. The collaborative environment, enhanced by expert mentorship, fostered productivity in generating new ideas.

We eagerly anticipate implementing veteran-led business initiatives with support from our mentors during their critical launch phases. The discipline, intellectual curiosity, and leadership skills demonstrated by participants underscore their strong potential as entrepreneurs.

To our veterans: We take pride in your achievements and remain committed to your continued success. Onward to new victories!
