This past weekend, the “Aybolit: On the Way to Recovery” project concluded the final session of its “Start Your Business” training series for veterans under the Capable and Resistant Program implemented by the East Europe Foundation.

“Behind us lie six months of intensive work, inspiration, bold ideas, courageous decisions, and true team spirit. Each training session sparked active discussions, creative solutions, and deep engagement from participants,” says Viktoria Kramarenko, Head of the “Wings of Victory” Charity Foundation.

Over these six months, 72 veterans and their family members participated in the program, including 15 women and 57 men. Most developed business ideas, created business plans, and applied for grant competitions. Others strengthened existing projects by gaining new knowledge in marketing, finance, and operational management.

According to participant feedback, over 80% reported growth in their knowledge and skills, while 90% expressed complete satisfaction with the program.

“We see how these trainings tangibly improve the business climate within the veteran community. Each participant becomes part of a strong network of individuals who support one another and write new success stories,” emphasizes Kramarenko. “This isn’t just training—it’s a path to veterans’ reintegration through entrepreneurship, a gateway to new opportunities and self-confidence.”

She also highlighted the critical role of psychological coaching integrated into the program: “It helped participants overcome fears, believe in their capabilities, and take the first steps toward their entrepreneurial journeys.”

‼ This initiative is realized by the Wings of Victory charity within the Capable and Resistant Program implemented by the East Europe Foundation with the financial support of Switzerland.
