We Will Not Be Broken

We survived this winter, perhaps one of the most challenging and brutal in the history of our struggle for independence. Now we have the opportunity to look back and summarize our achievements for January and February.

The winter was incredibly harsh. With the help of their eternal ally, “General Frost,” the Russians intensified their missile and drone attacks on our cities, focusing on critical civilian infrastructure. Shelling, blackouts, abnormally low temperatures, and military actions drained the energy of everyone who has consciously chosen to be in Ukraine and stand with Ukraine for the past 13 years, especially during the last four.

Winter did not break us. Despite the lack of light, heat, and water in the office, we continued to work and maintained the core activities of the foundation:

  • 109 individuals reached prosthetic and diagnostic centers (medical transportation);
  • 34 participants visited the pool (aquatic therapy – rehabilitation in a water environment);
  • 83 people enjoyed horseback riding (hippotherapy – rehabilitation through interaction with horses);
  • 80 individuals trained in the gym (kinesiotherapy – treatment through movement and physical exercises in the gym);
  • 5 people with disabilities received medical support.

Our vehicles have almost covered a distance equivalent to four equators in three years of operation! One of the vehicles completed its journey this year and has gone into well-deserved retirement.

The abnormal frosts did not prevent us from holding a photoshoot at the “Klondike” stable featuring veterans and our beauty, Barcelona, for a motivational calendar. Most of the 250 printed copies of the calendar were distributed to rehabilitation departments of Kyiv’s hospitals for military personnel and veterans. The rest of the print run was sent with deep gratitude and respect to volunteers, friends, and partners.

A pleasant – and important! – event for us was the visit of journalists from the British national tabloid The Daily Mirror: reporter Simon Murphy and photographer Andy Stenning, who were interested in our hippotherapy project. We eagerly await the publication and photo materials.

We live with an awareness of the realities of war, striving to align personal goals, plans – even family time – with the rhythm of work aimed at fighting and supporting the army. In these trials, the greatest value becomes the support of friends and partners, those who find the strength to make a call, leave a comment, share a smile, or have a brief meeting.

Thank you to everyone who continues to be there, helps, inspires, and motivates us.

We must endure and achieve the impossible for the sake of our children, for those who laid down their lives for Ukraine.

Let’s stay strong!
